For Patient use – Cary Blair medium in tube. includes a PS shaft with Viscose Tip Swab in peel pouch.
Recommended For:
High temperature conditions or remote sampling where refrigeration is intermitent or not available.
Ideal For:
Transport of gram negative organisms, esp. Vibrio spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. whilst suppressing coliform overgrowth.
Known Limitations:
1. DO NOT REUSE. Single use Device that is not suitable for re-work or reuse.
2. Recovery after 24 hours will be unpredictable and target organisms will be lost.
3. See Amies Clear or Amies Charcoal for patient sampling where anaerobes or time sensitive organisms like Neisseria gonorrhoea are suspected.
